Who we’re looking for:
Fastfrate Group is looking for a Payroll and Benefits Specialist for our Woodbridge office. As a Payroll & Benefits Specialist you will be responsible for completing tasks related to the processing of payroll, ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on-time and that all employee records are accurate.

What you’ll do:
Maintain and process weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly payrolls for hourly and salary employees in Canada, union and non-unionized employees
Maintain bi-weekly US payroll
Maintain time and attendance system, Synerion for all hourly and salary employees
Set up new employees and make necessary changes to existing employees within the payroll system, time and attendance system, and benefits provider system
Ensure the payroll is audited during processing and is in compliance with all applicable regulations.
Annual filling and reconciliation of T4’s, RL1’s and all other benefit programs for provincial and federal remittances
WEIMS reporting
Process third party payments and garnishments
Assist all level of employees and management with payroll related questions and issues
Administration of the benefit programs
Create and manage Dayforce reports
Handle monthly reports and payments
Liaise with finance as required for reporting
Other duties as assigned
Must Haves:
Certification in either, Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM)
Minimum 2 years working within a Canadian payroll system
Knowledge of federal and provincial payroll regulations, including tax regulations and legal requirements
Experience working with collective agreements
Strong attention to detail is required
Exceptional knowledge of accounting policies and practices
Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office
Working knowledge of Dayforce is considered an asset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent time management skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to integrate new software into a Company
Ability to work independently and within a team
