What you’ll do:

Primary Responsibilities of Logistics Coordinator:

  • Negotiate freight rates with carriers for domestic and cross-border TL and LTL
  • Source carriers
  • Respond quickly to spot quotes and customer requests
  • Be available after hours to assist with resolving issues
  • Follow up on delivery delays or security issues
  • Ensure closure of all orders in the TMS system
  • Grow and maintain existing and new carrier or customer relationships
  • Preform work with a sense of urgency and attention to detail

Secondary Responsibilities of Logistics Coordinator:

  • Track loads and provide customers with up-to-date information
  • Manage and coordinate daily shipments with carriers and customers
  • Liaise with customers and carriers to facilitate their pickup and delivery appointments
  • Ensure TMS contains current and complete data

Must Haves:

  • Minimum 3 years in a third party logistics or brokerage role
  • Experience in cross boarder shipping, full-truckload as well as less-than-truckload
  • Ability to make quick decisions
  • Strong attention to details
  • Ability to manage time effectively and multi-task
  • Effective teamwork skills
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple conflicting priorities
  • Strong communication, customer service and computer skills
  • Ability to build rapport with both carriers and customers
