Who we’re looking for:
We are looking for a full time, Fleet, Yard & Building Maintenance Mechanic at our Port Coquitlam branch.
What you’ll do:
- Basic knowledge of mechanics of trucks, trailers, containers, forklifts
- Review Daily Driver Inspection Reports
- Identify and diagnose necessary maintenance and repairs to the fleet
- Repair minor maintenance requirements
- Schedule and coordinate major repairs to the fleet with 3rd party contractors
- Organize daily, quarterly and annual inspections
- Ensure repair costs are in accordance with financial plan
- Maintain equipment to be in good working order
- Keep up-to-date material inventory records
- Make sure the material is available for shipping
- Organize equipment rental when necessary
- Assist with accident investigations
- Available for emergency call outs / overtime
- Majority of work to be done outside, must be willing to work in adverse weather conditions.
Must Haves:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience maintaining a fleet
- Mechanical background, heavy-duty/small engine repair, and knowledge
- Ability to diagnose required fleet maintenance and repairs
- Ability to repair minor maintenance requirements
- Excellent command of Office suite software in addition to great Internet skills and new recruitment methods
- Sense of organization and priority management
- High professionalism
- Dynamic personality and innovative spirit
- Ability to interact at all hierarchical levels
