Key initiatives include moving more than 60% of freight by rail, participating as a SmartWay Transport Partner, implementing anti-idling technologies, using GPS-enabled fleet analytics, and improving energy performance across offices, terminals, and warehouse facilities.

Intermodal Efficiency

More than 60% of our freight moves through our intermodal rail network, helping reduce highway congestion, fuel consumption, and transportation-related emissions compared to long-haul over-the-road shipping. As a SmartWay Transport Partner, we also support industry initiatives focused on improving freight efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions across transportation networks.

Fleet and Equipment Optimization

We leverage anti-idling equipment, no-idle operating policies, GPS units across 1,500 trucks, route optimization systems, trailer skirts, cab extenders, fuel tank skirts, and super single tires to help improve fuel economy, reduce unnecessary engine runtime, and support more efficient fleet performance throughout our operations.

Technology and Operational Control

Our environmental initiatives include a LEED-certified head office, LED lighting across office and warehouse facilities, electric forklifts operating across most terminals, customer carbon footprint reporting, tire retread and recycling programs, battery recycling, office recycling initiatives, and regulated hazardous waste disposal practices designed to support responsible environmental management.
