Consolidated Fastfrate
completes acquisition of Koch Transport Inc. And Koch Transport
International
March 4, 2005
(Woodbridge, ON) - Consolidated Fastfrate Inc. has completed the
acquisition of Koch Transport Inc. and Koch Transport International
Ltd.
Koch, who prior to the acquisition, acted as Fastfrate’s agent in
the Southwestern Ontario corridor, is well positioned to allow
Fastfrate to offer a more complete and comprehensive service
throughout Ontario, Quebec and north-eastern United states for both
TL and LTL service. “As a result of this acquisition, we are now in
the cross border trucking business and we hope to expand that across
North America over the next few years. This acquisition will allow
both companies to better compete on truckload freight in terms of
both service and pricing,“ says company President and CEO, Mr. Ron
Tepper.
Koch is an 84-year-old company with their head office in Cambridge,
Ontario. Koch is well positioned to take advantage of cross border
growth; they are F.A.S.T. (Free and Secure Trade,) C-TPAT
(Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) and P.I.P.
(Partnership in Protection) certified. The business will be well
positioned for investment in new technology that would improve
existing service that Fastfrate currently offers their customers in
Southwestern Ontario, from a tracking, tracing and POD perspective.
Consolidated Fastfrate Inc.’s earlier acquisition, Network Logistics
Inc., took place in January 2002. Network Logistics Inc. is a third
party provider that specializes in cross border TL and LTL freight
from Canada, the United States and Mexico. It is an international
full service provider with a comprehensive and competitive logistics
solutions package, and enhanced offerings in expedited and
specialized equipment movement. All this gives Fastfrate’s customers
greater shipping options, while generating cost savings and reducing
paperwork.
Toronto-based Consolidated Fastfrate Inc. is one of Canada’s largest
privately owned freight forwarder and a recipient of the 50 Best
Managed Companies Award for the fourth consecutive year. The company
annually transports in excess of 1.2 billion pounds of freight and
employs more than 1500 people in 16 offices across North America.
